The high-speed mechanical shutter, capable of up to 1/8000 second and the traditional Olympus high-performance dust reduction system are all some of the basic features that make the E-M5 Mark III superior. A wealth of accessories are also available for expanding shooting possibilities.

Max. 1/8000 sec. high-speed mechanical shutter

This model is equipped with a 1/8000 sec. high-speed mechanical shutter. Even when using a large-diameter lens in bright outdoor conditions, you can obtain an accurate exposure close to the widest aperture setting without using an ND filter.

High-performance dust reduction system

Supersonic Wave Filter (SSWF)

This model is equipped with an SSWF (Supersonic Wave Filter) that instantly removes dust and dirt by vibrating at ultra high-speeds of over 30,000 times per second. It makes it possible to change lenses outdoors without worrying about dirt or dust.

22 Scene Modes

Equipped with six themes for a total of 22 Scene Modes. Easily select options while checking sample image finishes.

Anti-flicker shooting/Flicker scan

This is able to suppress the effects of flickering while using both the mechanical shutter and the electronic shutter.

Anti-flicker shooting: This feature automatically detects the flicker frequency of light sources and controls the shutter timing to suppress exposure and colour variation between frames. This function is effective when using the mechanical shutter.
  • Flicker scan: This feature allows you to check the striped patterns caused by flickering light sources on the monitor, letting you set a shutter speed where such patterns are not noticeable. Available for still images when shooting with the electronic shutter and when recording video.

Easy Wi-Fi connection with Bluetooth®

Simply launch the OI.Share smartphone app to enable a camera and smartphone Wi-Fi connection via Bluetooth®. Recorded images can be automatically transferred to using Share function of cameras.

Custom Mode for saving shooting settings

This model is equipped with Custom Mode, allowing you to save shooting settings and modes. Simply turn the shooting mode dial to Custom Mode to access frequently used settings for shooting.

USB charging

The battery inside the camera can be charged via USB. Charge the battery while not using the camera, such as when on the move.

A wealth of system accessories

ECG-5 Dedicated External Grip

This external grip designed specifically for the E-M5 Mark III is equipped with a shutter release and Control Dial. Attaching the grip to the camera body provides an improved hold and controls.

FL-900R Electronic Flash

This is a high intensity flash with a maximum guide number of 58. This model is built with dustproof, splashproof and freezeproof performance to -10℃ and functionality that delivers superb tracking performance for high-speed sequential shooting on the camera. You can use the FL-LM3 Flash included with the E-M5 Mark III to fire the flash wirelessly using the light of the flash as a command signal.

FL-700WR Electronic Flash

This is a compact, lightweight flash with a maximum guide number of 42. This also functions as a commander and receiver for wireless radiowave communication. It is built with dustproof, splashproof and freezeproof performance to -10℃. You can use the FL-LM3 Flash included with the E-M5 Mark III to fire the flash wirelessly using the light of the flash as a command signal.

STF-8 Macro Flash

This is a compact, lightweight twin flash with dustproof, splashproof and freezeproof performance to -10℃. The included ring adapter is compatible with three M.Zuiko Digital lenses.

EP-16 Large Eyecup

This large eyecup blocks external light making the viewfinder easier to use. Because it is made of flexible material, it can be used with the naked eye as well as glasses. Support from both the eye area and both arms improves stability for a posture that reduces camera shake.

RM-CB2 Remote Cable

This release cable has an L-shaped pin jack (2.5 mm). It is equipped with a bulb lock which is convenient for long exposures.

ME31 Compact Gun Microphone

This directional gun microphone is great for recording birds singing outdoors. The adoption of a metal-cut body makes it very sturdy. It can be attached to the camera hot shoe when paired with a commercially-available hot shoe mount.
