Sportcam Mode
The TG-870 features Sportcam mode for outdoor sports enthusiasts. Versatile sport modes, including movie modes, are available for a variety of sports activities.
A versatile movie mode
Full HD 60p movie
60p movie can be used for recording moving subjects smoothly.
High-speed movie
With this feature, you can capture ultra high-speed HD-quality movies and play them back in dynamic slow motion.
- The movie size is 640 x 480 at 120fps and 480 x 360 at 240fps. When in Sportcam Mode, movie size is 854 x 480 at 120fps and 640 x 360 at 240fps.
Time lapse movie
With this feature, you can capture fixed-point shots of the movement of people or stars in the sky and play them back as a movie. Shooting intervals are available from 0.5s/1s/3s/6s/12s/30s, for creating a 20 sec. (30 fps) movie. When the loop shooting function is used, the next recording will automatically begin once the first has finished.
Sportburst
This mode enables sequential shooting with the set interval time from 0.05 to 60 seconds. When the loop shooting function is used, the next recording will automatically begin once the first has finished.
Face button
A face button is located on the front of the camera body. The button can be used to start and stop movie recording.
Functions that can be assigned to the face button:
- Movie recording: on/off
- Still image shooting
- Monitor boost (Increase monitor brightness to improve visibility of the monitor under bright outdoors)
- LED light on/off
- Super Macro (availability is limited to certain modes)
Movie recording button
A movie recording button is located on the back of the camera body. This button allows you to start shooting movies when the camera is held in the regular position. The same custom settings as with the face button are available.
Sport Holder
CSCH-123 Sport Holder
The separately available Sport Holder secures your camera to a belt or backpack, and allows Sport mode shooting without having to remove the camera from the holder. When needed, the camera can be easily taken out with a single hand, and because it comes with a spiral cord, there is no need to worry about the camera falling.
- Power supply, shutter button and face button can be operated even when the case is attached
- Construction that makes attachment and removal of camera easy
- Equipped with a belt to attach the camera horizontally or vertically
- Can be used even in the rain or seawater
- Equipped with snap link and spiral safety cord
- The Sport holder is sold separately.
