The Field Sensor System lets you relive your experiences

Data, such as latitude/longitude, temperature, and altitude/depth, recorded by the Field Sensor System during your shoot can be imported to your smartphone using the Olympus Image Track app to realistically recreate the experience of shooting.

Automatically acquire tracking data

The Field Sensor System included on the TG-5 can record tracking data such as location information while on the move (latitude, longitude), air temperature/water temperature, altitude (or depth), and shooting direction. Simply switch the lever on the top of the camera to LOG to begin recording.

Equipped with various field sensors

The camera is equipped with built-in field sensors such as a GPS sensor, thermometer, barometer, and compass. The GPS sensor records location information (latitude and longitude) by acquiring information from GPS, GLONASS/QZSS for highly accurate positioning. Transfer GPS assist information to a smartphone ahead of time using the OI.Track smartphone app to significantly shorten GPS positioning time.

2. Temperature Sensor
3. Manometer
4. Compass

In-camera sensor information display

Press the Info button while recording tracking data to display the currently acquired data. This feature lets you instantly check current shooting field information.

Display image tracking data on a smartphone

Using the OI.Track smartphone app you can transfer tracking data acquired by the field sensors along with recorded images to a smartphone. OI.Track can link and display movement and altitude (or depth) routes with images. This feature makes it possible to recreate the experience of mountain climbing, diving, and other such activities.

Simultaneously display recorded images and tracking data

1. Map
2. Still / Movie
3. Altitude (or Water depth)

The tracking data and images can be simultaneously displayed on a smartphone screen to relive the shooting experience. Tap on geographical locations or altitudes on the screen to quickly find images recorded at those spots.

Overlay display and sharing

1. GPS Log
2. Distance / Speed
3. Elevation / Depth
4. Azimuth
5. Time

Tracking data such as the latitude, longitude, movement distance and speed, altitude, depth, etc. can be overlaid on videos. Share these videos with family and friends so they can also feel the excitement of your experience.

Resize and transfer function

Video data can be resized for transfer. This makes it possible to store more movies on the limited space of a smartphone along with linked tracking data.

Streaming playback

Streaming playback of movies stored on the camera is available in OI.Track.
